For the German manufacturers of woodworking machineries, the first 6 months haven’t been positive. In actual fact, as compared to the same period of the previous year, there was a reduction of orders by 16%. Domestic market in Germany shrank by 10%, export by 17%.
This situation was expected since the exaggerated increase of last year (47%). Also strong fluctuations due to big plants should be considered.
The workload of companies is 5.5 months in average, while turnover grew by 11% during the six months. Same expansion for export turnover, with significant increases in the Eastern European markets. Supplies to the US went down by 35%.
