We have received the following announcement by Sicam: “Our work continues without rest in order to make the first edition of Sicam, International Exhibition of Components and Accesories for the Furniture Industry, to be held in Pordenone from 14th to 17th October 2009, become a great success.
Preparations continue with renewed vigour and enthusiasm, after that the Court of Milan, with a second order filed February 27th, recognized the substantial correctness of our behaviour, objecting only to some ways of communication, inhibiting their continuation. The order was published in Il Gazzettino di Venezia, 01/03/2009“.
Now the emergency legal procedure Zow wanted to leverage in order to seriously “affect” the feasibility of the next edition of Sicam has finally come to an end. The judges – who provided two orders concerning the topic – acknowledged the right to operate in a free competition market. For both companies indeed. According to the text published in the newspaper Il Gazzettino di Venezia and referring to the court ruling, there is nothing wrong with the date and the formula adopted, but Carlo Giobbi, Exposicam srl and Pordenone Fiere spa are not allowed to present Sicam as if it were the continuation of Zow or to connect it in some ways to the events organized in the Friuli town from 2001 to 2008.
Now it’s up to the market and companies: as it happens always, they have to choose according to their specific requirements and make or break the two events.
