Siempelkamp: 25 plants sold in 2010

With 25 orders for wood-based panel production lines, the Krefeld specialist for presses and complete plants for the wood-based panel industry has exceeded all results of previous years. The Group’s total order value will exceed 700 million Euros.

Asia has developed into the main purchaser of Siempelkamp products in 2010. China alone, spurred on by a high domestic demand and an urbanization process, ordered nine press lines, including seven presses of the 4’ concept. With numerous benefits the smaller 4’ model, which was introduced in 2007, meets the special requirements of Chinese plant operators. Excellent machine quality and high productivity at a reasonable price have convinced seven Chinese customers and one customer from Vietnam to purchase the 4′ model in 2010.
Five signed contracts with customers from Thailand, Korea and Vietnam for Mdf plants as well as two orders for Turkey complete the pleasing number of new orders from Asia. The total number of orders from this sales region amounts to sixteen.
Two highlights from the Asian market: the Vietnamese joint-venture company Vrg Dong Wha Joint Stock Company, headquartered in Minh Hung, signed a contract for the largest Mdf plant in Southeast Asia in June 2010.  The Thai wood-based panel manufacturer Panel Plus ordered the complete Siempelkamp product spectrum for processing rubber wood.

Five orders from Eastern European countries complete Siempelkamp’s successful track record of 2010. Siempelkamp received orders for one particleboard plant, one Mdf plant and one custom system for wood-fiber insulation panels from the Republic of Belarus as well as an Osb plant each from Russia and Rumania in 2010.
For the company’s Rumanian location in Radauti, Siempelkamp’s long-standing customer Egger ordered an Osb plant. Thus, Egger is expanding its existing particleboard capacities at this location with an additional production focus.

Customers in South America signed three additional contracts for Siempelkamp plants. The wood-based panel manufacturer Cuyoplacas in Argentina ordered a partial Siempelkamp plant in March of 2010. Arauco signed two contracts in July for its locations in Brazil and Chile. Arauco do Brasil ordered a partial Mdf line which will complement the existing infrastructure of two Mdf lines.

The orders received in 2010 demonstrate Siempelkamp’s broad competences and position the company excellently in the first year after the global financial crisis. Customers’ interest has not only focused on forming and press lines. The strategy to operate as a complete service provider has been successful for Siempelkamp. They have a demand for debarkers, chippers, screens, and glue blending systems for the front-end area. Cooling and stacking lines and our expertise in the areas of sanding, cutting-to-size, and packing are needed following the press.
