The 2011 edition of I Saloni, the Milan design kermess scheduled from April 12 to 17, is the goal of 50 years of history. And from here looking to the future and the young, creative people and designers of tomorrow. To them the strong message of “50 years young” which is the title that contains a common factor in the Furniture Exhibition and the entire collection of exhibitions and events connected to it the venue of Fiera Milano in Rho and the many events in preparation in different locations around the capital of Lombardy.
With a sold out budget to, as pointed out by Cosmit president Carlo Guglielmi during the press conference to launch the event which was held in Milan in recent days, Rho is preparing to host the exhibitions with an active budget for 2010 of from 297,460 visitors to more than 2,500 exhibitors on more than 200 thousand square meters.
At I Saloni (1,450 exhibitors involved, for 150,500 square feet of exhibition), and the traditional appointment with the young people of Salone Satellite (700 among designers and students from 20 international design schools for 4,500 square feet ) are flanked by this year’s biennial Euroluce (450 exhibitors for 41 thousand square meters) and SaloneUfficio, returning after a break of three years (120 exhibitors on 14,500 square meters). The new layout of the space distribution of the various lounges will enhance the contribution of design, with an extension of the field to the halls 16 and 20, and will bring in synergy Euroluce (in Halls 9-11 and 13-15) and SaloneUfficio ( in Halls 22-24), exhibitions placed facing each other in an ideal continuum.
It is also wide the calendar of events around Milan, including the preparation of the Triennale Design Museum by Cosmit, curator is Alberto Alessi, entitled “The Dream Factory” (open from 5 April 2011 to February 26, 2012).
The interaction with the iPhone and smartphones, thanks to Mobc3 platform, will allow real time access to all news and initiatives related to the lounges, while the traffic service enabled by Fiera Milano in collaboration with Radio Traffic will know at any time the accessibility of parking and traffic conditions on motorways, subways, railways and airports.
