The exhibition “Unicità d’Italia” (Uniqueness of Italy) will be inaugurated in Rome on 30 May and will continue until August 31, 2011, featuring the excellence of Italian production of the last 50 years and is part of the official program of the Office of the Prime Ministers for the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy.
The exhibition, under the patronage of the President of the Republic is made by the Foundation “Value Italy) in collaboration with Adi – Association for Industrial Design and Foundation Adi.
The event is sponsored by the Ministry of Economic Development.
The initiative consists of two exhibitions, autonomous but complementary, to be held in two venues in the capital. At the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, the Historical Collection of the Golden Compass Award will accompany the visitor through a complex system of images, memories, testing and product innovations, which will tell about Italy and its ability to produce excellence since 1961.
At the Museum Macro Testaccio a look to the future: on show hundreds of products selected the past three years by the Permanent observatory of design to compete for the Golden Compass Award Adi and a series of events intended to identify future scenarios and the actions needed to enable the Italian production to maintain and renew its unique features. The event will also include works for the final selection and, for the first time in Rome, the ceremony of award of the Golden Compass Award XXII, edited by Adi, which since 1954 is the most important International recognition at product and on research in industrial design.
