Paolo Fantoni – president of Assopannelli, association representing panels and semifinished products manufacturers, is today 9th June in Prague to take part to the meeting “Opportunità e sfide per un settore europeo del legno-arredamento più competitive” organized by European Economic and Social Committee – Consultative Commission on Industrial Change at the Ministry of industry and Trade of Czech Republic.
The speech of Fantoni “Sfide e linee guida dell’industria del mobile. Dai pannelli alla produzione di arredi” will bring the problems of Italian timber industry to the attention of European institutions.
“The significant decrease of raw material, also used for Energy production, and the increase of its price means for the companies of this sector employment and production decline. This means less competitiveness in the furniture industry al lover the world”, sais president Fantoni.
The meeting is attended by Ladislaus Döry, vice president of CEI-Bois and president of European Panel Federation (EPF), who will talk about the value of the timber industry and the availability of raw materials.
