The recent celebration of the XXII “Compasso d’Oro” (Golden Compass) award in Rome on 12 July, announced the issuance by the Italian Post of a special postage stamp dedicated to the Adi (Italian design association) Golden Compass Award.
The image of the stamp, designed by Stefano Castiglioni, reports the Compass and the golden section, symbols of research for harmony and proportion, inextricably linked in a structure aesthetically resolved, a tribute to the know-how through the strategic tools and visionary project.
In connection with the issue of the stamp, a stamp folder has also been created including, in addition to the stamp, a postcard, an envelope “day one” of 12 July 2011 and a card that contains it.
The stamp folder can be purchased at the same official cost of Italian Post, at 15 euro, including through the new e-shop site of Adi, which kicks off in order to promote, with a dedicated set of objects, the association for over fifty years works for the Italian design.
The stamp, part of the series theme “Made in Italy”, was issued in a limited amount: 1,500,000 units against the traditional 4,500,000 units.
The stamp with the date of issuance and card, can be purchased online, on www.adi design.org.
