Italian woodworking technology goes to Moscow!

“Padiglione Italia” will certainly be one of the main attractions at the upcoming Woodex/Lestechprodukzia, the biennial exhibition of technology and supplies for the wood and furniture industry, to be held at the Crocus Expo Center in Moscow from 29 November to 2 December.
“This is going to be the most important promotion event for made-in-Italy technology in the second half of 2011, that’s what our embassy officials in Moscow said”
, commented Dario Corbetta, director of Acimall’s studies and promotion office, in charge for this initiative. “It’s a great satisfaction to see Italian wood technology in the forefront at such an important event. The initiative was originally created in collaboration with Ice, but after the decision to cancel the Italian foreign trade institute, we decided to take over the project directly. We could not let Italian companies miss such an opportunity…”.

In hall 1, over two thousand square meters will be covered by Italian technology. Under the spotlights, fifty Italian companies inside the collective pavilion organized by Acimall. “And if we add the companies represented by their Russian importers, plus some direct exhibitors from Italy – Corbetta continues – we can say that the entire Italian woodworking machinery industry will be in Moscow!”.

This attendance confirms the importance of the Russian and neighbor markets for Italian companies. Italy has always been a reference partner in this industry, and Italian businessmen were among the first to bring advanced technology to this region; business relationships were particularly intensive in the phase of renovation and reorganization of the economic and manufacturing system after the desegregation of the Soviet Union.
In the first six months of this year, Italian export of woodworking and furniture production machinery amounted to 27 million Euros, i.e. 66 percent more than in the same period of 2010. As reasserted by Acimall, this market gave big satisfaction in the past and is expected to do the same in the future.

Woodex/Lestechprodukzia – the biennial show organized in Moscow (sponsored by Eumabois, the federation that gathers 14 European national woodworking technology associations) every two years, taking turns with Lesdrevmash – is the most important review of solutions for panel processing and furniture production.
