XIPC: a “fixed date”

For the third time, the company Greda from Mariano Comense meets international industry media at the press conference of the Milan exhibition, to be held at Fiera Milano-Rho next May 8 to 12.

Xylexpo is a very important date for us, a showcase where we present the best of our offer, where we feel to be part of “Made in Italy”, which is one of our most effective “business cards”. By attending the press conference every two years, we want to show that we believe in this exhibition and we are willing to tell industry media about our projects, our philosophy, our news”. These words by Marianna Daschini, Greda’s co-owner together with her brother Piero, outline the participation of the Brianza-based company in the XIPC-Xylexpo International Press Conference, ever since the first edition in 2014.

“This is the third time we participate and we consider this a great opportunity to show our enthusiasm, our dedication to conceive and produce “special”, tailor-made numerical control centers. This approach has delivered significant results on a continuous basis, leading us to move out into bigger facilities to have the necessary space to support the current phase of intensive expansion”.

Greda’s new headquarters in Via Vivaldi 26, Mariano Comense, have 3,500 square meters of working areas, including offices and production, incorporating all business functions: management, administration, sales, engineering, manufacturing and warehouse. Such optimization was essential in a period of sweeping changes for Greda, as the company is reaping the fruits of their work and stronger commitment to sales and leveraging the “boost” of a favorable expansive economic cycle.

“We moved into the new premises without skipping one single day of work, because 2017 was a very intensive year. We see a clear trend: customers demand more and more advanced and sophisticated machines. We get more requests for our solutions featuring aggregates and loading/unloading systems designed to enable unattended operation or minimum supervision. This market niche is expanding day after day, it represents a substantial share of our business, also because we have been able to follow this trend in recent years by designing optimal solutions for our target industries. In addition, more and more furniture manufacturers ask to decorate their products with solid wood details and turned elements”.

Machines are characterized by higher performance combined with great ease of use, transferring complexity from the machine itself to the part to be obtained: today, the technology paradox means that the real competence no longer lies in the use of equipment, but rather in the exact definition of the element to be created. This fits into the “Industry 4.0” logic, an essential prerequisite both in terms of performance and for the possibility to access loans and incentives for innovation.

MARKETS
An exciting season and a year full of satisfaction: “In 2017 we got encouraging feedback from several markets”, Marianna Daschini says. “First of all from Russia, the second largest destination market for our export. Also Italy supported our revenues, thanks to fiscal incentives and to increased propensity to invest in the renovation of the equipment fleet after years of wait-and-see attitude. We achieved very good results also in Poland, the Czech Republic and China”.

UPCOMING EXHIBITIONS
Xylexpo, as already mentioned, will be the most important date in 2018 for Greda, who will present great news. The “Milan May” will feature the latest achievements of Greda’s technological and engineering commitment. Before Milan, the company will be in Dubai at Wood Show from 12 to 14 March, then in China at Interzum Gangzhou from 28 to 31 March, and during the same days also in Russia, at Umids in Krasnodar.
