An entire week during which the Italian capital of design lives and breathes an atmosphere of creativity, becoming the perfect backdrop for a range of events dedicated to decorative and technical solutions for furniture and furnishing accessories. Established in order to promote Italian exports abroad, Milan Design Week is divided into two main events: The Salone del Mobile.Milano (Milan Furniture Fair) and the Fuorisalone. The first of these occupies a surface of nearly 210,000 square metres in total within the Fiera Milano area in Rho, showcasing the products of 2,300 of the most dynamic and creative companies in the global market, while the second is not so much a single trade fair event as a series of events spread across various areas of Milan. These take place at the same time as the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, representing an expansion beyond the confines of the main show, and involve many sectors with links to design, including the automotive, technology, telecommunications, art, fashion and food sectors, engaging the entire city in the event through innovative new forms of creative “cross-contamination”. This is the context in which Biesse Group is set to present itself as the technological partner of two major names in Italian design excellence, sharing with them the values and qualities that are connected to the importance of prioritising Made in Italy products, environmental sustainability and investment in research and technology: Lago and Arpa | Fenix. Biesse Group is “Premium Partner” to Lago, joining Lago Alliance, the group of brands, companies and people who have decided to work with the Veneto-based design company to promote an approach to business that demonstrates respect towards our planet, ourselves and the future. Guided by the principles of environmental sustainability and connected by a strong partnership that unites the world of woodworking and that of furnishings, Biesse Group and Lago pursue a sustainable approach when undertaking prestigious design projects, thanks to a long-running and close relationship that has once again been consolidated at the headquarters of the Veneto-based company, with the installation of a custom-made integrated line. For the fourth year running at the Fuorisalone event, Arpa | Fenix is brining the “Transformaterials” project to the heart of the Brera Design District, curated by the DwaDesign Studio: an interactive and fully-immersive installation dedicated to the transformation of “Fenix” and “Hpl” materials, combining design, innovation and sustainability, three inspiring principles that are also shared by Biesse Group. Inside Falegnameria Cavalleroni, at Via Palermo 8, an interactive, immersive material transformation performance will be held for visitors, with Biesse Group taking part as “technical partner”. Indeed, this technological partnership with Biesse Group is perfectly demonstrated in the artisan workshop, transforming it into a space that is both digital and innovative. The “Brema Eko 2.1” work centre – the compact, versatile vertical drilling machine created by Biesse’s business division – will be on hand, recreating a traditional carpentry workshop complete with typical tools, and metaphorically telling the story of the process of transformation of the material.
Finally, Biesse Group is one of the sponsors of the “World Furniture Outlook Seminar 2019”, the seminar organised by Csil – Centre for Industrial Studies, which is set to take place on 10 April, during the Salone del Mobile Milano at the Congress Centre in Milan Rho. The continuous evolution and transformation of the furniture sector at international level (particularly in new emerging countries) coupled with changes in sales channels and the creation of new players in the sector are changing the rules and strategies according to which companies develop. What economic strategies should be adopted in such a scenario? In this light, the seminar presents itself as a unique opportunity to discuss key issues relating to the production and sales figures achieved by the leading industrial economies at global level, through research, statistical data and forecasts conducted on over 100 countries and the top 200 producers in the world within the furniture sector.
