Salice is undoubtedly one of the “beautiful names” to be counted among the reference points in the crowded sector of furniture hardware, a reputation that is based on four pillars: quality, “Made in Italy” production, innovative products and technical solutions always cutting-edge.
Since it was born – founded in 1926 in Cantù (Como) by Arturo Salice – this reality has always been counted among the leaders in opening systems for the furniture world: almost one hundred years of experience, passion and competence who transformed the founder’s shop into an industrial group that has been producing its own hardware collections since the 1950s. A technological first that saw the first, significant stage a few years after the start of production, in 1957 when Arturo Salice spa filed the first worldwide patent for an invisible hinge with automatic closure: an event that for the whole sector marked a moment of strong innovation.
Today Salice imagines, designs and produces in the large complex of Novedrate, inaugurated in 1975 a few kilometers from Cantù, which stands on a green area of 240 thousand square meters, of which 60 thousand covered that house the entire production center, the offices technical and administrative offices, storage warehouses, the automated shipping center and the Salice technology center. The group has become stronger thanks also to the acquisition of Adar (now Salice Guide) in 2000 and of Bortoluzzi Sistemi, specialized in the production of sliding systems, in 2016; can count on 10 branches in Germany, France, United Kingdom, Canada, United States, Hong Kong, China, to which the branch created in Portugal was added just this year.
The spearhead of the Novedrate plant is the Salice Technological Center, where the most advanced sector of experimental research is concentrated thanks to a team of seventy technicians engaged in the study and research of new formal and functional solutions, in the development of innovative products, in improvement and updating of those already in production and in the design of machine tools and systems most suitable for their manufacture.
There are many machines and lines that in Salice produce in a continuous cycle, the first step of a highly integrated organization which – thanks also to a fully automated computer system – allows us to respond to customer needs with maximum promptness.
It is superfluous to underline how much attention to quality has contributed to the success of the group, a process that had two significant moments in the certification of the company “quality system” by Det Norske Veritas in 1993 (ISO 9001) and in 1998 for environmental management. (ISO 14001).
A path, we said, that started from the first steps of the group, with a production that is continuously tested to verify its correspondence to the parameters of quality, resistance and maintenance of characteristics over time both internally and by the most important international laboratories and bodies.
THE HINGES

Salice hinges
There is no doubt that Salice has always been synonymous with hinges, from the most traditional for wooden doors to those to be glued to glass or screwed onto materials such as metal, ceramics, cements, quartz compounds and – obviously – panels of all kinds. Universal hinges, which can be installed with any fixing system and on any type of door, as well as in any position and which – thanks to a movement with seven rotation pins _ solves the problem of application on doors with shaped or angled profiles or with double stop. Available in the version with decelerated closing and in the “Push” version for furniture without handles, the universal hinges by Salice are available in different finishes and with a rich choice of cover plates.
