Good numbers for Bi-Mu, the biennial exhibition of machine tools, robotics, automation, digital and additive manufacturing, staged at fieramilano Rho from Wednesday 12 October to Saturday 15 in conjunction with Xylexpo, the international biennial exhibition for the furniture industry and woodworking machinery. The event was attended by 700 companies, 37 per cent from abroad, spread over a total area of 65 thousand square metres in the four pavilions set up for the event.
In addition to the more than 42 thousand trade visitors registered at the turnstiles (5 per cent foreign), an estimated 8 thousand visitors came from Xylexpo. This number is calculated on the basis of the declaration of intention to also visit Bi-Mu expressed by 85 per cent of the operators when pre-registering for the event dedicated to woodworking technology (staged in the neighbouring halls). These data confirm the validity of the decision taken by Bi-Mu and Xylexpo to take place in full concurrence, as this allowed the public to move freely from one event to the other.
Among the foreign visitors were also the 100 operators, mostly users to which some journalists were added, from 13 countries – Australia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, India, Mexico, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Turkey, USA, Uzbekistan, Vietnam – invited as part of the mission organised by Ucimu-Sistemi per produrre in collaboration with Ice-Agenzia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
