Universal Robots enters “Rbtx,” Igus’ marketplace platform

Universal Robots, the well-known cobot manufacturer, has joined “Rbtx,” the marketplace platform created by Igus, the well-known company that specializes in, among other things, the manufacture of energy chains.

Currently “RBTX.com” cooperates with 70 companies that offer via the online platform their robots, gripping and vision systems, conveyor belts, software and services. “The advantage? RBTX provides a compatibility guarantee for the entire range of software and hardware, so users can always be sure that all components work together,” Igus said in its press release announcing the “new member.”

“With Universal Robots we have acquired a top partner, thanks to whom we can expand the range of products available on the RBTX.com platform,” explains Alexander Mühlens, head of the Automation and Robotics Business Unit at igus. “Universal Robots is not only a pioneer in cobots, but is also at the forefront of intuitive robot programming. This fits perfectly with the concept of our marketplace, which aims to offer automation solutions that are easy to implement even without any special skills or prior knowledge. We are therefore very pleased to have been able to secure Universal Robots’ partnership.” Several accessories, compatible with UR cobots, such as the seventh axis igus, are already on the platform.

Universal Robots offers easy-to-integrate automation solutions that enable customers to strengthen their competitiveness and get a quick return on investment-this fits very well with the “Rbtx” approach,” explains Andrea Alboni, General Manager Western Europe at Universal Robots.

Following the “build or buy” principle, on “Rbtx” users can find a ready-to-use robotic system for a fixed price or assemble individual components for an individual solution. The marketplace also allows users to take advantage of “RBTXpert,” a remote integration service, at a fixed price. Together with the customer, the “RBTXpert” expert checks the feasibility of the application in a simple video call (the first hour is free) and explains the advantages of different kinematics. After the consultation, the client receives a fixed-price offer, always with the aim of finding the most convenient solution.
