Saving and optimization. Sames, the US company specializing in coating applications, with Italian offices in Pioltello, just outside Milan, announced the replacement of its range of dosing and mixing unit with a single reference, “Cyclomix Evo”.
Earlier on, Sames had three products from 2K and 3K mixing and dosing, called “Cyclomix Micro”, “Multi” and “Expert”. “These solutions were replaced by one machine, “Cyclomix Evo”, wrote the company in the press release that announced the new solution. “The user specifies the configuration of the basic module, which is then customized accordingly: number of painting circuits, color change blocks, flowmeters, regulators and more. More modules can be added to increase the capacity”.
NON-STOP DOSING AND MIXING
The range has been simplified but optimized at the same time. Sames has focused on the basic functions. “Perfect dosing is guaranteed with any flow rate, thanks to a new patented injection system. Mixing is based on the vortex technology, which ensures a consistent distribution of the catalyst”.
As a result, the user can work without being interrupted by alarms triggered by dosing errors, and there is no need to rework pieces due to visual flaws. According to the company, this ensures high productivity, especially because “…the control interface is very intuitive: it takes just a couple of minutes to learn how to use it.
Another benefit, identified in approximately twenty beta tests, is lower paint consumption, with a reduction by up to 10 percent for frequent color changes”.
Such saving comes from the reduction of internal volumes and the elimination of retention areas, plus the implementation of a “paint optimization” feature that reduces lost volumes during color changes. Finally, for 3K coatings, a patented system for potlife management ensures a fivefold reduction of lost volume in case of process interruptions.
For waste management, an additional module automatically collects and separates the mixtures of paints, the reusable solvents and the dirty solvents. Associated taxes and reprocessing costs are also reduced accordingly.
