“KleinDia” is the special Dlc (Diamond Like Carbon) surface diamond and anti-friction coating for solid carbide spiral cutters developed by Sistemi for large-scale production which solve problems of tool abrasion, chip evacuation and life time on both chipboard panels and solid wood processing. Thanks to a very low friction coefficient, plastic and aluminium working are also improved and can be effected without coolant.
Cutting edges are covered with a layer of less than 1 micron without altering dimensions. Its high hardness is granted by both Sp2 (Graphite) and Sp3 (Diamond) Carbon hybridization. Life time is increased up to four times compared to the same uncoated bits. Sistemi also supplies coated drill bits which have been tested for eight months working on melamine panels with the incredible result of 150.000 bores. Suitable for working every kind of wood, particle boards and laminates. Particularly suitable when working abrasive material, Mdf, Hpl and melamine.
