Coinciding with its participation in Sustainable Italy, a project promoted by the Consulate General of Italy in New York, in collaboration with ICE and under the coordination of the Embassy in Washington, within Nest Climate Campus – partner of Climate Week NYC, the most important annual event on climate change and environmental sustainability –, Salone del Mobile.Milano announces that it has obtained ISO 20121 certification for its sustainable event management system.
On the eve of the opening of the Nest Climate Campus (19-21 September) – a think tank for sharing sustainability practices, solutions and policies effective in combating the climate crisis – which will take place as part of New York Climate Week (17-24 September), an event that, in collaboration with the United Nations General Assembly, brings together delegates from all over the world, policy-makers, entrepreneurs and environmental activists to discuss today’s opportunities and challenges in the fight against climate change, Salone del Mobile. Milan reaffirms its commitment to sustainable change, guiding its business model along a path of responsible and inclusive development that can be a reference and inspiration for the entire sector.
Many objectives have already been achieved. First and foremost, ISO 20121 certification for the event sustainability management system, awarded to Salone del Mobile.Milano thanks to the work done to prevent, mitigate and compensate for the possible negative effects of the 2023 edition on the environment and people. The certification recognizes and rewards the Salone’s ethical and sustainable path, guaranteeing that it is not simply a matter of greenwashing practices, and orients the event’s management system towards continuous improvement.
