The appointment with Eurobois, the French biennial dedicated to machinery and the furniture industry, scheduled in Lyon from 6 to 9 February 2024, is approaching. An event that – the organisers told us – will see some 300 exhibitors from 15 countries in the corridors of the French city’s Eurexpo. “At a time in history when the topic of ecological and energy transition is becoming increasingly important, the role of wood becomes crucial due to the considerable advantages it offers: it is renewable, bio-based and low carbon“, the organization explained.
Eurobois 2024 will focus on eight macro-sectors: machinery and equipment for primary and secondary woodworking; robotics and automation; tools and equipment; materials; treatments and finishes; and supplies for the furniture and furnishings industry. And, for the first time, the building and outdoor furniture sector will be represented at the fair.
In addition to offering a workshop area and an extensive programme of lectures and appointments, one of the keywords of the 2024 edition will be innovation, expressed through demonstrations, meetings and awards. Not only that, the 2024 edition of Eurobois will stage the final of the European contest for young carpenters, organised in cooperation with the Fédération Compagnonnique – Compagnons du Tour de France to select the best national carpenters and elect the best carpenter in Europe.
EUROBOIS 2022
The 2022 edition of the fair was attended by 480 exhibitors (15 per cent more than in 2020) and just under 23,000 visitors, 50 per cent of whom were non-locals (from outside the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes area).
