The third edition of the inhouse Tech-Together, organized by Hymmen in cooperation with other regional machine manufacturers, was recently held. “We were positively surprised by the lively interest,” the company commented in the press release issued after the event, ”taking into account the still difficult market situation. Visitors came to the technical center in Rödinghausen from several European countries, and the overall number is in line with that of the last event in 2022.
THE TECHNOLOGIES
Technologies highlighted by Hymmen ranged from digital printing technology, printing and coating systems, to the Industry Intelligence smart2i solution. Among the highlights were technologies for engineered wood production.
Ample space was also given to live demos. It was possible to closely follow, for example, the production of the latest “Hymmen Collection 2024” on the “Digital Lacquer Embossing” (“DLEplus”) line, whose technology is successfully used worldwide. Flooring samples were available for a real “touch and feel.” Digital printing of decors with a wide range of technologies (UV-cured and water-based) on panels and roll-to-roll in various widths could also be examined directly on the machines.
Alongside, large-format samples with glossy and super-matte mirror surfaces that were produced using Hymmen’s lacquer finishing technology (“Calender Coating Inert,” “CCI”) were on display. Highlighted was the new ultra-high-pressure press lab and formats, where pressing processes for engineered wood panels such as “Swp” and plywood can be tested.
“The technology includes an individually made glue application for Swp, and the systems in operation were all connected to the latest “Industry Intelligence smart2i” solution. Visitors were able to see in real time how relevant production parameters can be recorded, visualized and analyzed in the cloud-based software. User-friendly dashboards allow users to access relevant production data at any time and from anywhere, enabling them to derive appropriate measures to optimize production and increase efficiency. The live demonstration of production control, which can also include non-Hymmen systems for external customers, was theoretically supported by an industry expert to complete the 2024 indoor exhibit.”
