In the International Year of Forests 2011, the UN recognizes the commitment of FederlegnoArredo − Italian Federation active in supporting and promoting excellence of the Italian wood and furniture − in the exploitation of wood and forest sector in sustainable development of Italian forests, accepting the Federation of International Institutions acting to safeguard the forests.
FederlegnoArredo shares the mission that the UN International Year of Forests aims to promote global action for the management, conservation and sustainable development of forests around the world, and to sensitize the people and institutions worldwide on these issues. The goal is to raise awareness of the vital role of forests in the ecosystems and socio-cultural benefits derived from it.
FederlegnoArredo has been active in the forefront of the exploitation of the forest wood chain, promoting a coordination of resources with all other companies in the industry interested in the raw material wood, as well as in supporting the need for a real development for the Italian forestry policy and management more rational use of national forests. The Federation carries out awareness campaigns on the Italian institutions for market regulation, legislation and incentives to industry to work on the national forest where the announced meeting of the convention of the Forest Industry, Trade and recycling of wood.
The logo designed for the International Year of Forests 2011, which will be used by institutional FederlegnoArredo Communications, celebrates the central role of people in the administration and conservation of forests and the importance of forests as a source of life, highlighting the importance of their conservation.
