Forests in Lombardy:  the photo book

Until June 26 in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, in the heart of Milan, will be set up 40 large panels with photographs of the exhibition “ The spirit of the wood. Men and forests in Lombardy”, organized by the Lombardy Region, in collaboration with the magazine Orobie.
Together with the complete photographic volume of the exhibition of the same name, published by Oros editions, is part of the initiatives for the International Year of Forests, established in 2011 by the United Nations.
Forests in Lombardy are a heritage which must be preserved and made known to the general public. More than 23 thousand hectares of woodland and grassland and 20 forest complexes represent a reservoir of important resources for the future, while preserving their biodiversity and their productivity.
In addition, by protecting the systems and the strengthening of Lombard green forest-wood-energy chain, new opportunities for development and employment are possible.
