Bau is a magnet for international companies

Once again Bau is proving to be a real magnet for the sector. International companies in particular are finding the ‘World´s Leading Trade Fair for Architecture, Materials, Systems’ more attractive than ever before. Around one third of all the applications received so far – that´s 17 percent more than at the same point two years ago in the preparations for the last Bau – are from abroad. The next Bau takes place from January 14 to 19, 2013 at the exhibition center in Munich.

The ever broader international appeal of Bau has been most evident in recent years on the visitor side. In 2011 Bau set a new and impressive record, at 60,000 visitors from abroad. Now that same development is continuing on the exhibitor side. Exhibition Director Mirko Arend sees this as “on the one hand a clear sign of further internationalization within the building industry, and on the other as the result of our intensive marketing efforts, in particular in Europe and Asia, combined with the positioning of Bau as the world´s leading trade fair“.
Already it is clear that when Bau opens its doors in January 2013, more than 2,000 exhibitors from at least 45 countries will be waiting to welcome visitors on an exhibition area of 180,000 square meters. The exhibition organizers expect those visitors to number around 240,000, from all around the globe. “The rising number of international visitors is also helping boost demand from foreign exhibitors, too,” explains Mirko Arend.

Companies wishing to exhibit at Bau 2013 can still apply. The simplest way to apply is online at www.bau-muenchen.com. The exhibition team will try and meet all requests for space as far as possible, and even if a solution can´t be found straight away, experience has shown that in the months before the fair starts, spaces do occur, because of a certain amount of reshuffling. Those who have already submitted their applications by then, have a clear advantage.

In January 2013, too, top companies and world market leaders will be exhibiting in all sections of the fair. Covering the full range of building materials and services, this show addresses every aspect of planning, design and construction. The fair is divided into individual sections dedicated to building materials, and product and theme areas. In 2013 Bau will again be highlighting themes which will shape the future of building, and which are of outstanding importance for all segments of the industry and all building materials. As well as the long-running theme of sustainability, Bau 2013 will also be focusing on “Energy 2.0” and “Urban Development in the 21st Century”. Other top themes are modernization and building for life. A diverse and interesting program of events is being organized to explore these themes; it will feature, for example, forums, theme presentations, congresses and awards. Some of the events take place in the exhibition halls, some in the Icm – Internationationales Congress Center Munich.
