Vauth-Sagel takes over Hetal-Werke

The owner-managed family business Vauth-Sagel has taken over Hetal-Werke Franz Hettich GmbH & Co. KG, a Würth Group subsidiary, on 1 August 2017. At two sites in Alpirsbach and Betzweiler, the medium-sized Baden-Württemberg-based enterprise, which has around 50 employees, manufactures system components for the kitchen furniture and automotive industry. Vauth-Sagel has been an internationally successful trade and industry partner in both of these industry sectors as well as others for many decades, and this takeover is a well-matched addition to its product portfolio. The Vauth-Sagel Group has stood for innovative furniture, care, caravanning, automotive and multi-market system solutions for over 55 years. At four sites in eastern Westphalia and northern Hesse, the owner-managed family business develops, manufactures and sells more than 85 million quality products “Made in Germany” every year. The company focuses extensively on the furniture and automotive industries; the takeover of Hetal-Werke is therefore a sensible addition to its product portfolio, which includes corner unit and cabinet hanging systems for kitchens (furniture area) and car seat sub-assemblies (automotive area). “The takeover of Hetal-Werke is a strategic addition to our product range. For our area of expertise corner unit systems, we have acquired product solutions we were not able to offer before. And in the automotive sector, we are adding yet another growth area to our extensive expertise,” says CEO Claus Sagel. “We will be offering our new as well as our existing customers an even more comprehensive high quality product range, which we will supply with our usual reliability.”
Hetal-Werke joined the Würth Group, which also owns the Austrian company Grass, manufacturers of movement systems for the furniture industry, in 2007. In the past few years, the Hetal-Werke production area “drop down flap fittings” had already been transferred to Grass. “With Hetal-Werke, we are taking over a well-established traditional company we are already extremely familiar with; we are also quite at home in the company’s areas of business, and our company and also our customers will therefore soon benefit from the respective synergies,” says CEO Heinz-Otto Sagel.
