From 17 to 22 April at Superstudio Più (Via Tortona, 27) with the exhibition “Idea – The Design Supermarket“, an ironic and fun exhibition curated by Danish designer Niklas Jacob, who pays tribute to the Swedish giant Ikea, 18 designers coming from six different countries exhibit “do-it-yourself” flat-pack projects, but not the usual objects. Here then is the spare wheel that can be assembled, the closet to hide the lover, the pedestal for egocentric, the bookcase for a single favorite book, the dining table for those who are always on a diet, the cradle that looks like a boat, a shelter portable for dogs, the table with interchangeable legs, and others.
The Ica Group, (www.icaspa.com) world-wide producer of water-based wood-based paints, will be present with its “Iridea Bio” for interiors applied to the objects on display: without oil, with a low CO2 emissions, using raw materials from recycled materials and with production phases of lower environmental impact. It is the result of three years of research carried out in the research and development laboratory of the multinational to test new resins deriving from renewable sources. These paints allow not to breathe potentially harmful volatile substances inside the house, but also outside, thanks to the strong reduction of CO2 for their production: one thousand kg of bio paint for interior furnishings “Iridea Bio” – allow to reduce 300 kg of CO2, or the equivalent of carbon dioxide emitted by a car that travels 2,521 km.
Also at the Salone del Mobile Ica Group will be among the supporters of the “Young & Design” project, www.youngdesign.info, born from an idea by Flavio Maestrini, dedicated to products and furnishing elements designed by under 35, created and presented by companies exhibiting at the Salone del Mobile / Fuorisalone – DesignForFurniture. A support that is the testimony of how the company intends to enhance research, in this case in the field of design, with young designers. For many, “Young & Design” has represented an important platform for launching the world of work.
