The machine and plant manufacturer Ima Schelling is expanding one of its four production sites worldwide. The reason for this: the ever-increasing demand from customers in the field of transport and handling technology. Additional jobs will be created in Środa, Poland, and the hall capacity will be expanded. The increasing global demand for automation solutions for production machines makes it necessary to expand the location near the university city of Poznań (Posen).
So far, the smallest machines of the “Novimat” series as well as smaller transports have been manufactured here. Accordingly, production will be expanded to include additional transport and handling components. At the same time as the expansion, Ima Schelling’s global production network will also be restructured. “In the future, all of our production sites should concentrate on certain core competencies and thus guarantee efficient value creation,” explains coo Christoph Geiger. The new buildings are scheduled to go into operation as early as autumn 2022. The number of employees from the current 179 will be increased by around 40.
