Hettich, a major player in the world of furniture hardware, has decided to expand the production space at its headquarters in Kirchlengern/Bünde, East Westphalia. The group has decided to invest more than 30 million euros in 23,500 square meters of additional space in a multifunctional production hall.
According to plans, the first products are expected to roll off the production line in the new building in the first quarter of 2023. Logistically, it will be connected to the nearby “C2” logistics center. Just under 2,900 people are currently employed in Kirchlengern/Bünde. By expanding production capacity, Hettich is securing jobs and opening up the possibility of creating new ones, paving the way for the company’s future. “A new multifunctional production hall will enable us to meet the growing capacity demands in the coming years for various drawer systems with state-of-the-art production equipment, while offering our colleagues an attractive working environment,” says Michael Lehmkuhl, managing director of Hettich in Kirchlengern.
The construction of a new building is a visible step toward a sustainable, long-term business for Hettich. For Hettich, this also means building on a sustainable foundation. “The production hall will significantly exceed the requirements set by German energy-saving legislation and will make a contribution to taking responsibility in the construction of industrial buildings. In addition to partially green facades and roofs, we will also install a photovoltaic system,” Lehmkuhl concludes
