Siempelkamp: the third customer symposium in Turkey

A new opportunity to meet. The third “Team Siempelkamp: Customer Symposium in Turkey“, the annual event organized by Siempelkamp in Turkey, took place on 20 and 21 October. “We want to be where our customers are“, said Siempelkamp in its post-event press release. “The aim of the symposium was to exchange ideas with Turkish customers and their technical teams on site and to present them with the latest developments, trends and services. The interest and enthusiasm of the more than 120 participants was great“, they commented.

During the two-day event, Siempelkamp Logistics and Service Managing Director Stephan Niggeschmidt, together with the team of sales and service experts present at the Istanbul event, presented comprehensive concepts for parts supply and flexibly designed modernisation packages to optimise the technology of existing plants, including 35 “ContiRoll” lines in operation.

Not only that, highlights included the presentation of the “Prod-IQ” software family. “In this context, the talk about the strategic partnership with the up-and-coming company Smartech and the market launch of the jointly developed, artificial intelligence-based “Prod-IQ – SmartPress” solution attracted a lot of interest“.
Prod-IQ – SmartPress represents a new era of data collection and analysis. This will enable operators of wood-based panel plants to realise unimaginable benefits by unlocking the potential of data, allowing ‘Prod-IQ – SmartPress’ to further increase the productivity of their plants“, explained Stephan Niggeschmidt.

The spotlight is also on the production of osb and insulation boards, with Siempelkamp announcing the first “ContiRoll” line specifically for osb production by the end of the year. “In a booming market with an extremely high level of building activity – commented Ulrich Kaiser. – osb products for the construction industry are developing as an interesting solution in addition to mdf and particle board for the furniture industry, which will also be very popular in the packaging industry and other sectors”.

Other presentations completed the event programme. These included presentations by the Pallmann and Büttner subsidiaries. The latter presented technical innovations in the field of dryers to the symposium guests and spoke about the expansion of the dryer portfolio through cooperation with the German company New Eco-Tec. The new Büttner service centre was also presented in detail, while Pallmann, the Siempelkamp Group’s size reduction specialist, presented the advantages of “EcoPulser”. The dimension reduction process based on sonic shockwaves works without contact and is therefore particularly energy-efficient. “In times of exploding electricity prices, this is one of the most efficient solutions, e.g. for the production of surface material for particle boards,” he said.

It was an excellent event that our customers followed with great interest throughout. We will be happy to repeat this symposium in the future!” commented Faruk Şişci, General Manager of Siempelkamp’s Turkish representative office.
