In the first nine months of the year, Spanish furniture exports continued their growth trend with an increase of 13.4 per cent (over EUR 2,181 million) compared to 2021. This steady growth is expected, according to analysts, to continue in the third quarter.
The main importers are France and Portugal, which together account for 43.7 per cent of Spanish furniture exports and are at the forefront of the main destinations for Spanish furniture in the first nine months of 2022.
France continues to be the top destination for Spanish furniture with a 29 per cent share of total exports and an increase of 4.7 per cent between January and September 2022.
Outside Europe, the United States ranks as the third destination for Spanish furniture exports with a growing percentage of 7.2 per cent of total exports. There was also a strong increase in exports to the United Kingdom (plus 18.3 per cent), despite the barriers resulting from Brexit.
Morocco (19.2 per cent) and Mexico (plus 104.4 per cent) also showed clear growth.
