2022 was a busy year for Abet Laminati, the Bra-based company specialising in decorative laminates. A year that began with participation in the exhibition dedicated to Marco Zanuso and Alessandro Mendini, two great protagonists of design and architecture, at the ADI Design Museum, and continued with a return to the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan and the Fuorisalone. For the occasion, Abet Laminati presented the Whimsy Collection, a collection of decors designed by the creative talent Arthur Arbesser, and played a leading role, flanking the most prestigious design brands with its materials, in numerous presentations in the city.
During the week dedicated to design, two other major events involved the company. At the headquarters in Bra, the International Sales meeting was held to reunite Abet’s collaborators and partners, after a two-year stop due to the pandemic. On the occasion, Managing Director Ettore Bandieri announced an important corporate transaction: the acquisition of Fiberesin Inc, the American leader in the design, production and sale of HPL ventilated facades.
“Also this year, Abet Laminati married two important initiatives in the school sphere: it sponsored the first edition of the POLI.design ‘Sensorial Surface Design’ master’s degree course, which began in October, and was also a partner in the ‘Hygiene Together’ initiative, the collaboration between Napisan and Stefano Boeri Interiors that promoted the development of the ‘Classroom of the Future’ project, which aimed to identify a new model for the school environment,” the company told us in its report.
While in the environmental sphere, Abet in 2022 drew up a document called ‘Abet GoGreen’, which illustrates the company’s vision, achievements and next goals. Abet GoGreen describes the choice of raw materials, but above all the company’s commitment and responsible use of resources.
“Let’s not forget the numerous national and international trade fairs in which Abet has participated: InnoTrans, the leading international exhibition for transport technology; the London Design Festival, the most important British event dedicated to the world of design; Cruise Ship Interiors Expo 2022, the London trade fair that caters exclusively for the European cruise market; and finally, Sicam, the International Exhibition of Components, Accessories and Semi-finished products for the Furniture Industry.
For this last appointment, Abet presented new proposals and product previews, including ‘Meg-H’ – an ideal solution for horizontal outdoor applications – the BARK finish with a strong character and the new decors of the ‘Rocks’ collection. “The last milestone of 2022, not least, is the selection of Abet at the ADI Design Index, in the “corporate research” section with “SuperSuperfici – the spirit of Memphis reloaded”, the 2021 project by Giulio Iacchetti and Matteo Ragni created to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Memphis“.
