Siempelkamp: new plant for Roseburg Lumber

54 years of cooperation. The partnership between Siempelkamp, the well-known German company, and Roseburg Lumber, the American manufacturer of wood-based panels, continues with a new mdf plant. The newly commissioned Siempelkamp plant is part of a total investment of $700 million in the Southern Oregon region. The investment includes, as we mentioned, a new state-of-the-art mdf production plant and a component manufacturing centre.

It also includes technology optimisations and upgrades to existing plants in rural Douglas and Coos counties. The overall project is considered the largest known manufacturing investment in rural Oregon and one of the largest private capital investments in the state’s history,” Siempelkamp explained in the press release. “Siempelkamp is participating in this project by supplying the heart of the new MDF plant. The scope of supply includes the Büttner drying line, including the screen, the forming and pressing line with ‘ContiRoll’, the cooling and stacking line, as well as the intermediate storage and the associated automation of the machine technology. Plant design by Sicoplan’s Belgian specialists is also included in the scope of supply. Also integrated is the latest glue-saving system for mdf, which is now being further developed with an internationally active industrial partner”.
