Marco Ghirardello has been appointed as the new president and ceo of Fanuc Europe Corporation. He succeeds Shinichi Tanzawa, who has led Fec since 2016, who will now take up a new role at the Fanuc Corporation headquarters in Japan.
“It is a great honour and responsibility for me to lead Fanuc Europe. I intend to work closely together with all our customers and partners to chart a successful future in industrial automation“, said Ghirardello.
In Fanuc since 1994, Marco Ghirardello brings to his new position at Fec an important wealth of experience and knowledge, gained in a career spanning almost 30 years. Most recently, Ghirardello was appointed Senior Vice President of Fanuc Europe, and was responsible for the European Factory Automation division, which includes cnc systems. Prior to that, Ghirardello was Managing Director of Fanuc Turkey, first, and Fanuc Italy, later, contributing concretely to Fanuc’s expansion in Europe.
“With our products renowned for reliability and high quality, our global service network and our strong organisational capabilities, we will continue to promote technological excellence in the automation sector throughout Europe“, said Ghirardello.
Fanuc Europe recorded a record turnover of more than EUR 1 billion in the last financial year ending March 2023, and the number of employees in the European subsidiaries exceeded 2,000.
Mr. Ghirardello thanked his predecessor for his valuable achievements: “I am committed to continuing Fanuc Europe’s strong growth trajectory by focusing my efforts particularly on innovation and sustainability“.
