The growth of Egger, the Austrian group specialized in panel production, continues. The group – which had recently acquired Saib – announced that it has officially taken over the Rauch chipboard plant in Markt Bibart, Germany, which has facilities for the production of raw chipboard with a capacity of up to 650,000 cubic metres per year. Subject to approval by the antitrust authorities, the chipboard plant in Markt Bibart will be the group’s 22nd production facility.
“Sustainable growth based on our own performance is our declared objective. We are successfully continuing our strategy with this additional location in our core market Germany“, emphasised Thomas Leissing, Egger’s CFO and spokesman for the group management.
With regard to processes and systems, Egger is aiming for a rapid integration of the plant into the group and is already examining the first investment projects on site.
Upon closing the deal, the Austrian manufacturer announced that it will hire all 195 employees of the Rauch chipboard plant.
