Innovation, design and functionality. New market trends require maximum flexibility with a sophisticated, and most of all, customizable style. We could see and touch this trend at the latest editions of Salone del Mobile and Interzum, respectively dedicated to furniture and semifinished materials.
These trends are well-known to Hettich, the German specialist of furniture components, and find application in the latest solutions presented at interzum and then at an event for media and selected customers.
The spotlights at interzum were cast onto the “FurnSpin” system, winner of the interzum Award 2023, which showed its unique translatory rotational movement and seamless and silent integration with furniture. “FurnSpin” is the result of solid partnerships with the supply chain, a strategy that Hettich Italia wants to replicate on the Italian market”, explained the German company during the event.
“FURNSPIN”
“FurnSpin” shows off the exciting interchange between “closed” and “open” with stunning effect. An elegant spin from closed furniture front to open shelf instantly changes the room’s atmosphere: closed for a tidy and clean look whenever needed, or opened up with everything in view and affording fast access from two sides. Either way, storage space can be used for keeping provisions you don’t necessarily want everyone to see, or for homely accessories you like to be on show.
The fitting’s unique “translatory rotational movement” can literally turn furniture inside out. FurnSpin synchronizes two different forms of movement, as mentioned, so that the cabinet body moves along a defined path, preventing any collision between furniture edges. “The astounding part is that FurnSpin would seem to cancel out centrifugal force. Torque is balanced so carefully that even very light objects don’t fall over or slip about in furniture, but stay firmly in place.
EVERYWHERE IN THE HOUSE
As mentioned, versatility is a market trend, and the latest solution from Hettich follows this trend. Whether in the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room or office –“FurnSpin” can be used everywhere. “Designers, creative minds and manufacturers alike can let their imaginations run free to give customers individually tailored furniture in all sorts of different variations”.
Depending on furniture size, the appropriate FurnSpin option can be selected from different weight categories. The system moves floor to ceiling furniture just as easily as a small glass display cabinet. What’s more, FurnSpin also comes with all the familiar user-friendly functions such as soft closing or push-to-open for creating handle-less furniture design.
At the same time, the fittings remain virtually hidden. After the presentation at interzum, the solution will be officially launched on the market in the fourth quarter 2023.
The new hardware can be combined with “Cadro”, the aluminum frame system with light lines. “Cadro” uses aluminum profiles and joints. The profiles are designed for 16-millimeter wooden shelves or 6-millimeter glass shelves. The system components are available in matte black and stainless steel versions.
NEW SERVICES
Besides product innovations presented in 2023 – and coming up soon in the showroom at the Cimadolmo site – Hettich Italia is implementing its services according to the guidelines of the mother company, aimed at simplifying production and assembly processes with new digital tools that leverage the web and augmented reality, to offer tangible support to all customers.
“It is essential for us to promote direct interaction with customers and industry operators with whom we have established mutual trust and exchange for a long time”, said Francesco Brambilla, managing director at Hettich Italia. “Hettich is committed to delivering solutions focused on wellness, comfort, ergonomics and multifunctionality, but we must know and inspire our market, so that we don’t talk exclusively about German quality, but also the ability to charm, to astonish, to make new proposals so that customers can differentiate their offer and win new customers”.
