Biesse Group, the multinational company based in Pesaro, headed by Roberto Selci, and a leader in the market of machines and systems for wood, glass and stone, listed on the Star segment of the Italian Stock Exchange, inaugurated a brand new production site in Bangalore, India. With Biesse Manufacturing, the Group is the first multinational company to manufacture woodworking machinery in India. The Group’s strategic investment for the new production site was about 5.7 million dollars (about 4.5 million Euros) and it’s included in the Biesse industrial plan for 2008-2010. With this investment, Biesse is involved directly in the Asian markets with his technologically innovative machines and with specializing technicians who can offer “tailor made” solutions for the specific needs of local customers. The new site is the most innovative plant for machinery production in a modern environment with great quality standards. “The widespread diffusion of our product range has always been a success factor for us” − said Roberto Selci, Biesse President and Ceo – “Our three-year-industrial plan presented to the market in 2008 includes, among other important initiatives, the development of emerging markets through direct investments so as to increase market shares and consolidate our leadership despite the macro-economic situation. That’s why the investment in India is highly strategic for the Group.Biesse Manufacturing aims at producing locally and selling on the Indian and Asian markets a range of machines for high-quality woodworking providing its customers, at the same time, with an excellent after-sales service. Our highly specialized Indian experts and engineers have been trained in Italy to guarantee installations and services in compliance with Biesse quality standards globally”. Biesse Manufacturing Pvt Ltd is an Indian company set up February 2006 and entirely controlled by Biesse spa which has started the building plan of the new production site in 2007. The production plan of the new structure, counting 86 employees, includes the production of 50 machines in 2008 and 280 in 2010. The new production unit in Bangalore was introduced to the Indian market by Stefano Bartolini, Biesse industrial manager and Riccardo Quattrini, sales&marketing manager, who showed the new 5.800-square-meter-production site and the new Tech Center to those attending the event.
The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Sergio Mina and Sayeed Ahmed, respectively Biesse Manufacturing managing director and Ceo. On 21 and 22 November, the new Biesse Manufacturing will be opening the doors of Biesse Inside, a two-day event addressed to all operators of the woodworking industry, where Biesse machines can be seen in operation; at the Tech Center, a program of demonstrations and technical seminars conducted by Biesse experts will be offered.
