I Saloni on the starting grid

The engines driving I Saloni 2009 are warming up. The event is ready to promote made in Italy solutions within a renowned international showcase. Thanks to the agreement recently signed by Letizia Moratti, Mayor of Milan, the exhibition can leverage the brand “Expo 2015” in order to develop new global synergies between the industrial world, culture and the town of Milan.

This will be one of the main innovations which will characterize the event dedicated to furniture and furnishing accessories during the next six years: I Saloni will be held from 22 to 27 April at Fieramilano Rho and this year it will also include Euroluce, the International Lighting Exhibition. The organizers of the event, Cosmit and Federlegno-Arredo, can count on a net exhibition area of over 200,000 square meters with 2.529 exhibitors, 816 of them from foreign countries (up to 31st January).

The 48th edition of the Salone Internazionale del Mobile and the 23rd of the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition will cover 155,000 square meters of net exhibition surface in 14 halls. 1350 exhibitors will attend these shows, 254 of them from 30 foreign countries; the 25th edition of Euroluce will feature 477 exhibitors (142 of them from 21 foreign countries) in six halls and 42,000 square meter exhibition surface.
Two halls will host the 12th edition of SaloneSatellite, traditionally dedicated to young designers and students of industrial design institutes of all over the world, with 167 stands over 3,960 square meters for 702 designers (420 of them from 36 foreign countries) and 22 schools and universities.

Moreover, a rich program of events and shows (starting from “fuorisalone” side events) will actively involve the town of Milan in order to focus – once again – on home furniture at 360° – classical, contemporary, trendy and contract solutions – providing also a significant overview of a culture and a town which represent the symbol of national creativity. It is the first stage of a partnership between administrators and “creative” people over a period of six years up until Expo 2015. An initiative carried out to exhibit the best of Italian production of the industry and contribute to overcome the crisis.
